Nintendo, winner of the console market
After the presentation of Mario Kart and Wii Fit finally arrived in France and before the arrival of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it is understandable why Nintendo and its consoles Wii and DS have captured everything in their path since their release.
Last year, for the period April 2007 to March 2008, with a Wii Fit which finished first in Japan (in front of a podium composed entirely of software games Wii & DS ) and Super Smash Bros.. Brawl is exploding in the U.S. and rankings to be released June 27, 2008 in Europe, Nintendo has achieved a turnover of $ 16 billion, up 73%, and a profit of 2.5 billion, in up 47%. Nintendo has succeeded in the market for video games but more importantly, on the sale of accessories and consoles. The Wii has been sold to some particular 18.6 million units this fiscal year. Bringing the total Wii sold worldwide to 24.5 million in late March 2008 by Nintendo , which also hopes to sell nearly 25 million for the year coming!
The radius software, we have just mentioned the biggest success of the firm, for example with a Wii Fit sold 1.85 million copies in Japan, or Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be almost 5 million sales (USA + Japan ) during the first quarter of 2008 alone (the title was released in Japan in January and March in the U.S.). And for the DS ? Nothing less than 30 million consoles sold in the fiscal year, bringing the total worldwide to over 70 million. Note nonetheless that 57 titles DS are "million sellers" on DS now ...
Innovation + classic = Success
The strength of Nintendo consoles and such is due to this equation, the association of the games that have proven to be more known by all as the Mario saga that is installed on Wii with Mario Galaxy or Mario Kart and new products and innovations with interfaces and ways to play ever more revolutionary who draw deep into the imagination of developers to provide us with games like Nintendogs or Brain Academy.
When you see that game, now become classics in the field are still leading the box office upon release, it is therefore understandable that Nintendo is able to combine classical and innovation for the delight of shareholders and players of course.
The latest example is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a true masterpiece, you'll find on the test MoussTIC from this weekend even before its release.
