HTC Diamond, a marvel?

Family Touch HTC expands. And the newcomer as a stated goal the domination of the smartphone market. Already announced as the " iPhone killer ", the HTC Touch Diamond carries a lot of hopes on his shoulders, or rather these facets. But that is really what smartphone at a time when Apple is preparing its iPhone 2 ?
The Touch Diamond is a wizard at communicating small size, 10.2 to 5.1 cm wide and only 1.15 thick, allowing it to slip into any pocket. Compatible 3G / 3.5 G, it will integrate the new browser to Windows Mobile 6.1 to the long term. I said long term because its output is expected in June 2008, the first models will ship Opera.

A new interface

The TouchFlo interface has undergone some improvements, among others, the 3D and vibration upon contact with the screen like the Samsung Player. These changes will give users a better interaction with multimedia content especially images (see images below). Convenience and ease of use seems the guiding principles of this product.
Still on the image, the screen of 2.8 inches (7 cm) offers a resolution of 640 * 480, real progress in the Taiwanese manufacturer that has been slow to understand that with a resolution of 320 * 240, the Internet browsing is impossible!

The technological arsenal board

The Diamond is a concentrate of all the technologies on the market:

• 3.2 megapixel sensor with autofocus and an additional VGA camera on the front for video telephony,
• Qualcomm 528 Mhz processor among the most powerful of the mobile market,
• 4 GB of internal memory and a MicroSD slot,
• An FM radio receiver with RDS,
• An accelerometer for the same system of screen rotation
• Integrated GPS, WiFi b / g and Bluetooth.

A real gem

HTC has decided to break into the smartphone market by offering us this technological focus that seems limitless, or almost, if one raises the question of autonomy to feed all its features.

But the talk of iPhone killer, I do not think the Touch Diamond does not do better, given the iPhone 2, as its predecessor, the Touch, facing the first version of the smartphone from Apple. This is a notice personnnel, but multitouch is a unique asset. Everything will be decided in the price differential between the two actors.
