Nokia is back with the acquisition of Symbian
This week, Nokia has to offer Symbian for a whopping $ 264 million. This acquisition will allow the Swedish manufacturer to return to the battle of the mobile OS.
As a reminder, Symbian is a consortium in which there are AT & T, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Texas Instruments, ... This association will allow Nokia to counter the long-awaited arrival of Android, but also Windows Mobile and of course iPhone v2.
These four players ( Nokia , Microsoft, Google and Apple) will therefore engage in a battle Sérée to appropriate the mobile phone market. Microsoft, which is so far behind, will certainly return to the front of the stage, especially after the acquisition of MobiComp, a synchronization service promise.
The main problem with Symbian is that its interface is a bit austere. So we have to rethink the system to make it more attractive - something that Apple has for some years now, especially with the interface of the iPhone, absolutely revolutionary.
