With Photosynth, your photos take on another dimension
For several months in beta, the software Photosynth from Microsoft is now accessible to everyone. This new technology developed by the Redmond company makes, from several photographs of the same object or the same building for example, to reproduce in pseudo- 3D .
I say pseudo- 3D since it is not a true rendering in three dimensions but has a gencement of photos taken at the same location. Thus, from a few tens or hundreds of pictures, the software can recreate an environment by providing a framework that will grab every similarity between images to be coupled.
The finalized version enables all to connect to the service and send their photos to create a "synthetic" - all audiences. To do this, you need a minimum of 20 photos with similar elements, and upload them Photosynth will take care of them together coherently.
The record is really nice. You can also find other "synthetic" on the site of Photosynth . It will download software (Windows only for now) to view them.
One can easily imagine the possibilities of development of this software, especially with geotagging photographs, making the site much more communal.
