The Messenger 2009 beta available
The latest of the best known instant messaging software is available in beta version. This version, called Windows Live Messenger 2009, took a serious facelift and embeds some nice features.
Level design , this beta we eyeful. New presentation of the list of contacts. You can choose the size of images before the names of contacts. Found in the configuration settings of the software:
We can also highlight a color in the frames of images that is specific to the status of contacts: green for "Available", red for "Busy", orange for "Away" and white "Offline". That gadget but can, through this, do a quick scan of available contacts or not. Then we can choose a header (see first image) from predefined images or personal.
In conversation windows, there is a new arrangement of messages. It is clearer than in previous versions.
Photos of contacts are placed on the left this time. You can also see that when a contact written several times in a row, his conversations are placed end to end without repeating "X said," every time. This feature was already available in previous versions by installing Windows Live Plus!.
In terms of functionality, we discover, as and when able to use some small subtleties. I have selected two important:
- The Avatar: we have the opportunity to create an "Image with moods ..". The latter, taken with the webcam allows you to assign a photo to a smiley. When in a conversation the smiley is sent to the contact, the picture of the avatar will change and one that has been attributed to the smiley.
- The groups that create a group with some of your contacts, then you can send a message to all contacts, much like a chat room.
For my part, I found this new version was prettier and probably more functional. But like any self-respecting beta, there are still some bugs.
