Open Office 3, finally available
Once will not hurt, we'll talk about software freedom . And not a little because it is the largest office suite free : Open Office. She returns with version 3 to cut a little more grass under the feet of Office.
Since Friday, news of the release of the final version of Open Office 3 have flourished on the net. Fourth release of the suite , is currently available in French for Windows and Linux (Mac users will wait a bit).
New in this latest release are numerous:
- Support for ODF and Microsoft Office 2007.
- A start page to quickly create documents of any kind.
- Displaying multiple pages side by side in Writer.
- New system of notes that appear in the margin.
- A tool for equation solving in Calc.
- Improving the graphics Calc.
- Improving the image crop tool.
- Improving export to HTML.
- Etc., etc..
There are still a lot of news, but I still invite you to test this new version for you to see for yourself.
Finally, and this is important for me, the interface is little changed. When we see a complete overhaul done to Office 2007, you can find the damage little investment in graphics developers Ooo 3.
Download the version for Windows and Linux.
